A Statement of Belief
I
believe in the Father, the only true God, who created all things in heaven
and earth. He has always been and will always be.
He knows all things including all that has happened and all that
will happen.
He can destroy man by simply withdrawing His breath – but instead
shows mercy and longsuffering to men, not wanting any of His creation to perish.
Through
inspiration, the Father has given to us holy writings that guide us in the
path of understanding.
I
believe in Jesus, the son of the Father.
Since the beginning of the creation, Jesus has always existed in
the purpose of the Father to become the means by which men would be saved.
At the appointed time, he was born of a virgin by the power of the
Father, also known as Holy Spirit.
He lived a life in perfect obedience to the Father.
As a powerful show of the Father’s love for man, Jesus was
offered up as a perfect sacrifice for the sins of the world.
Jesus died.
The Father restored Jesus to life on the third day after his death,
and now he lives in heaven as a mediator and priest.
At a time appointed by the Father, Jesus will return to the earth
as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
I
believe that from the dust of the ground man was formed a
breathing creature.
Through the disobedience of one all men have become dying (mortal)creatures, whose end is to perish by returning to dust again.
The only hope of eternal life is through belief and baptism into
the name of the Jesus.
Our answer to Gods calling requires us first to be baptized (fully
immersed) symbolically in water.
Second, we then need to become fully immersed in the
spirit – that is to be truly sons of the living God.
I
believe those who are faithful share in the inheritance promised to
Abraham, the father of the faithful because he believed God.
This means that though we may return to dust, we will be
resurrected in the last day to live with Jesus in the coming Kingdom of
God on earth.
